In the Spring of 2006 Fred decided to pull together a group of musicians to fulfill a long term ambition of his; forever pushing the boundaries in piping with a style which is highly improvisational and often compared to jazz, Fred was keen to find a group of like-minded musicians to bring to life on a larger scale his unique compositions.  This dream has now been realised in the four fantastic musicians who form The Fred Morrison Band:

Paul Jennings: percussion
Duncan Lyall: bass
Douglas Millar: keyboards
Innes Watson: guitar

Tightly knitted drums and bass playing intricate riffs and rhythms form the back line with keyboards and guitar bringing warmth and colour, providing the perfect foil for Fred’s unique, powerful melodies and allowing him to improvise freely:  “We’re taking the music in all sorts of different directions in terms of sounds, arrangements and style. “
